FRAGMENTED
VIDEO
ACADEMIC PROJECT
2022_

The memory of a place, burried deep in the mind, when it resurfaces it triggers a chain reaction made of abstract associations of tiny fragments that overlap, collide and influence each other, like in a Joyce's novel.

Insired by the works of Sky Hopinka and Suneil Sanzgiri.

Investigating on the themes of memory and remembrance, in particular their fluid and labile nature, which provides a very often distorted and fragmented perception.

The film negatives try to give a materiality to memories but they also represent the colder and more objective side of memory. Presented in black and white on a light panel, they give a sense of sterility as if they were presented to us during a psychotherapeutic session, contrasting with the rest of the video.
